Plus, you can help promote the PPFMA! To sign up, simply send an e-mail to email@ppfma.org and it will be set up within about 24 hours. You'll get a reply when it's set up! Other Interesting Information Currently there is nothing here to post, but I'd be willing to post various information about the PPFMA. If anyone has good information about the repeaters, such as what kind of equipment we have or photos of the installation, that would be interesting. Anything else that some members might have about the PPFMA which would be interesting, please send it along to the PPFMA for posting. |

PPFMA/UCCS Repeater: The 145.265 MHz (-) repeater is up and running with full autopatch capability. This repeater is a cooperative effort between the UCCS Radio Club and the PPFMA. Members of both clubs will have autopatch privileges on the machine. This machine provides good local coverage for most of El Paso County and has a sweet sounding autopatch on it with autodial capabilities. A revised set of repeater codes is included in this mailing. To place an autodial call, you enter your assigned 4 digit code. The repeater responds with your call sign and automatically dials your number. (Most people will have their home phone set up as their autodial number, but it can be whatever number you want.) Each paid membership entitles you to one autodial number so if you have multiple family members under one membership, you get only one autodial number. To obtain an autodial number, contact Bob KBØCY or see him at the annual meeting. Please don't request an autodial number if you don't intend to use it. There is a finite number available and using them needlessly will mean that the available numbers are exhausted prematurely. Full Duplex Packet Radio: The technical crew has been working on some enhancements to the local packet radio scene. Two full-duplex packet repeaters are now running in the Pikes Peak region. A 9600 baud UHF packet repeater is operating on 447.250 MHz (-) and a 1200 baud VHF packet repeater is on 145.205 MHz (-). Both machines are at temporary sites without the coverage that we ultimately anticipate but they are quite useful just the same. Eventually, the UHF machine will be moved to our high-altitude site and will be a key hub in a 9600 baud UHF backbone. Come to the annual meeting to find out more about these new systems can do for improving packet efficiency. |
